Words are sharper than swords, and therefore, reading books—rich with knowledge and ideas—is essential for mental growth. A good book is like a true friend, always reliable and inspiring. No matter how much the world changes, the importance of reading remains constant, even though the methods and mediums of reading may evolve with time.
It is a matter of great pride that the Kidangannur Karunalayam Library is the first library established within an old age home in Kerala. As in previous years, various programmes were organised this year in connection with Reading Day as well.
It was truly heartwarming to see the residents of Ammaveedu engaging in reading and exploring the books available in the library. Reading Day was celebrated with activities emphasising the importance of books, along with reading quizzes and discussions about authors and literature.
