On 15 June 2022, Minister G. R. Anil inaugurated the Nehru death anniversary programmes and social service initiatives organised under the auspices of the Nehru Peace Foundation. Individuals who demonstrated excellence in various fields were recognised and honoured during the event.
Karunalayam Charitable Trust Chairman Mr. Abdul Aziz, who has been serving as a helping hand to the abandoned and helpless for the past six years, was honoured with the Nehru Peace Foundation Award for Best Philanthropist. The award was presented by Minister G. R. Anil.
The ceremony, presided over by Foundation Chairman Mr. S. Pradeep Kumar, was attended by MLA V. K. Prashanth, District Panchayat President Adv. S. Suresh Kumar, CPM leader M. V. Jayakumar, Congress leader Cherian Philip, and Foundation Vice Chairman K. S. Mani.
