Kidangannur Karunalayam Ammaveedu extended compassionate care to an elderly man who was in a severely debilitated condition.
The individual, Vijayan (66 years) from Kollam, was in a situation where no one was able to care for him. He was suffering from old age–related issues and other ailments. Although he has two children, his elder son, who suffers from a heart condition, is medically unfit to look after him.
Local residents approached the police station with a complaint. Attempts were made to admit him to several institutions, but these efforts were unsuccessful.
Subsequently, Kidangannur Karunalayam Ammaveedu took him under its care from 27th November 2023 in the presence of local residents, the Municipal Councillor, and the Pandalam Janamaithri Police, ensuring his safety and well-being.
