The Karunalayam Charitable Trust was established on 16th September 2016 with the objective of providing shelter to the homeless, food to the hungry and shelter to the abandoned parents in the community. The Karunalayam Charitable Trust was started by taking over sisters Sarasamma and Ratnamma from Kadakkal Anappara. Kidanganur in Aranmula panchayath.

The Kidanganur Karunalayam Charitable Trust started taking over the sisters from Kadakkal on 16th September 2016 at Kallungal Building House and by September 2019 it had taken over 130 parents. Karunalayam still has the support of well-to-do locals behind the progress of its activities. It is hoped that this charity will continue to have the support of all.
